We started the project with a strategy workshop to define the shop's goals and needs. Since Dawn creates her pieces in collections, we needed to create an elaborate collections page and a way for her to highlight the newest collection on the home page.
We also needed the website to tell Dawn's personal story and the story behind her products. We set up the home page as a storytelling process, sharing Dawn's background, the origins of her textiles, the shop's charity work, as well as links to other pages that continue to reveal the story.
The result is Chez Kwetu's new Shopify website: a standalone branded platform that sells Dawn's creations, tells the shop's story and promotes the shop during maker events and markets.
